My journey began in Romania, where I first learned to respect the profound power of nature. This path eventually led me to the kitchens of Italy, where I had the privilege of making soap alongside "Nonnas," mastering the traditional, slow-processed methods handed down through generations. These women didn’t just make soap; they crafted remedies. They taught me that what we put on our bodies is just as vital as what we put in them.

When I moved to New Zealand and settled in Auckland, I found a second home that shared this deep respect for the land. Norilum was born from an immigrant’s dream to bridge these two worlds—combining the time-honored craftsmanship of Europe with the pure, local ingredients of Aotearoa.

From Local Markets to Our First Shop

Community and connection are at the heart of everything we do. You can often find us sharing our passion and products at Auckland’s vibrant markets, including the Britomart Saturday Market and General Collective. It was at one of these markets that our journey took an exciting turn.

After trying our shampoo and soaps for herself, a local shop owner was so impressed with the results and the quality of our ingredients that she invited us to be part of her store. We are incredibly proud to have our very first physical home at 23 Ocean View Road, Hillcrest. It is a testament to the fact that when people try natural, traditional body care, they can feel the difference immediately.
